The Irrational - Conversation Games
Suspecting her billionaire employer (Warren Christie) may be a serial killer Angelique (Sandra Shapiro) reaches out to Kylie (Travina Springer) and take advantage of her brother's skills. "Conversation Games" offers an unusual setup with our initial suspect, who certainly meets the basic requirements to be a sociopath, agreeing that a member of his immediate team (who also all fit the right psychological makeup) is the killer and agrees to do whatever he can to help. The plot takes a few twists and turns before Alec (Jesse L. Martin) uncovers the truth with a little more help from Simon (Max Lloyd-Jones) than he was expecting.
Although we don't get Rose (Karen David), the episode dose offer some interesting character interactions and revelations with Simon's risk taking that puts him danger but also ends up saving a life and helping catch a killer. The focus of the episode being to diagnose and reveal sociopathic tendencies also allows for the experiments to be more integral to the plot than in several episodes. Perhaps buoyed by his success, Simon also chooses to let his feelings for Phoebe (Molly Kunz) be known sparking a bit of office romance. And the reveal of these personality traits could also lay some foreshadowing for some eventual trouble for him, or the team, at some point in the future.
