Reacher - Number 2 with a Bullet
While Neagley (Maria Sten) does some research on the people Reacher (Alan Ritchson) is working for, the third episode of Reacher's Third Season focuses mainly on Reacher covering up his own mess and maneuvering himself into a stronger position within Zachary Beck's (Anthony Michael Hall) organization. This involves sneaking out for a moonlit swim and, with the help of Susan Duffy (Sonya Cassidy), hiding the body of Angel (Manuel Rodriguez-Saenz) and the two drivers who walk in on them. Then, using the disappearances of the three men to his advantage, Reacher manages to take out Duke (Donald Sales) paving the way for Reacher to become Beck's new #1 guy.
Reacher's swim, and Duffy's reaction to him on the road, are highlights as well as the climax of Reacher's plan ending in blowing up a DEA safe house to keep his cover. Other noteworthy moments of the episode involve Duffy getting her first look at Quinn (but not knowing that's who it is) while staking out Beck's big shipment, Reacher beating up some of Richard's (Johnny Berchtold) bullies, a reference to Sgt. First Class Dominique Cole which ties back to Reacher's hatred of Quinn which continues to be teased but has yet to be revealed, and Richard dropping the name "Julius McCabe" who is the one actually behind the smuggling through Beck's business.
