Invincible - You Were My Hero

After confronting Cecil (Walton Goggins) about the surveillance drone watching the family, which Cecil isn't responsible for, Mark's (Steven Yeun) day only gets crazier when his date with Eve (Gillian Jacobs) is interrupted by the pair of time travelers that whisk him away to  the far future where an insane Immortal (Ross Marquand) is ruling over a dystopian future with an iron fist (what this has to do with the pair stealing the Declaration of Independence in an early episode is never made clear).

Returning almost immediately after he left, Mark remains haunted by the bleak future of Earth and the actions he needed to take to free the world. It's all a bit odd without much purpose other than foreshadowing bad times in Mark's future and further limiting any time for Mark and Eve, in costume or out of costume, to develop their relationship. The remainder of the episode picks up the thread of Allen the Alien (Seth Rogen) who finally convinces Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons) when a pair of Viltrumites show up to beat him to death. The sequence is mostly memorable for Allen freeing Battle Beast (Michael Dorn) who becomes a strong ally in the prison escape taking one of the Viltrumites into deep space.
