Interior Chinatown - Detective

"Detective" offers a big change for the show and a new path for Willis (Jimmy O. Yang) as the department begins looking into his brother's disappearance in earnest. Willis, teamed with Turner (Sullivan Jones) shows off a knack for the job while Lana (Chloe Bennet) being paired with Green (Lisa Gilroy) provides the missing background of her relationship with Jonathan (Chris Pang) and events surrounding his disappearance. Together, Green and Lana discover the crashed boat which Jonathan had apparently been using to flee the area providing a potential end to the case (although the show is far from over).

Willis' new role creates new ripples. The cop show within the show gets a new intro showcasing all four detectives. And, perhaps because four of them is simply too many, Turner's decision to leave the force at the end of the episode creates a vacuum for Willis to fill. Memorable moments of the episode feature mostly on Lana's flashbacks with Jonathan (teasing his understanding and fear of the reality-shifting aspects of the show that Willis has been making use of) and using that information with Green (who shows off she is more than just a wise-cracking cop) and find the first break in the case in a decade. As for Willis, he may not have gotten the answers he wants but there's still three episodes left to find out his true destination.
