Will Trent - Find a New Pond
"Find a New Pond" continues to push the show back to a status quo. While working at her security job, Angie (Erika Christensen) uncovers dark secrets at Waldorf Estates which put her in danger but also appear to have provided the extra push necessary to be reinstated to the force. While the episode makes note of Amanda's (Sonja Sohn) new situation with Sunny (Kyrie Mcalpin), we don't see developments on-screen relating to the duo (which suits me just fine as I'm not looking forward to the day this subplot begins taking serious chunks of time from the main characters).
The case of the week for Will (Ramón Rodríguez) and Faith (Iantha Richardson) involves the murder of siblings during the board of director's meeting which, given the company's poor reputation (and the surviving brothers' illegal activities) plenty of suspects. There's a fun roleplay segment where Will, using the help of various other characters, figures out who the true target of the poising was. That, along with a few insights offered from the estranged sister of the family illuminates the motive for the crime. And, also of note, Nico's (Cora Lu Tran) animosity of Will finally begins to soften by the end of the episode as well leaving only the inevitable crossing of paths between Will and Angie to return full circle once more.
