Goosebumps - The Haunted Car
After a flashback introducing and explaining the backstory of Alex (Francesca Noel), who is shown in multiple cameos in the two-part season premiere without explanation, and confirming that her mother (Ana Ortiz) is a piece of shit (and, from what we see in the present, not a very observant parent or cop), "The Haunted Car" picks up with her current situation while also dealing with the fallout of "Stay Out of the Basement" with everyone looking for the missing Trey (Stony Blyden). The two threads converge with Alex and Cece (Jayden Bartels) "borrow" Trey's now haunted car searching for the person (Ethan Viera) who actually committed the crime she went to juvie for. However, things get bizarre when the car shows a mind of its own.
The "haunted" car is fun, even it only makes up about half of the episode with the rest focused on the odd plant/animal thing which apparently will be the thread to tie the various stories together. Alex's joyride turns out to be ultimately fruitless and leaves her with a nightmarish experience she can't explain to anyone, let alone her hapless mother. It also doesn't do anything to endear Cece to her. In the other aspect of the episode Anthony's (David Schwimmer) search for the missing bulb leads him into the sewers after hearing about Devin (Sam McCarthy) experience with the vines leading him back to the room where his brother disappeared and where he finds the confused reconstituted Trey leading to a foreboding that something bad is coming.
