Taking a page from the Justice League Unlimited TV-series, Justice League #1 reboots the Justice League as a worldwide group of heroes helping to fight threats around the world from the Watchtower. After a quick tour of the tower by the Flash for newbie Air Wave, a group of members (Superman, Wonder Woman, Black Lightning, Firestorm, Kid Flash, and Star Sapphire) is sent to deal with an issue in South Africa involving a terrorist group calling itself Inferno (who it appears will be sticking around for awhile).
A solid opener that captures the organized chaos of such a large group of heroes (with plenty of others getting small cameos). While the bigger guns deal with the unmanned drones, it falls to newbies Star Sapphire and Air Wave (who joins later) to save a life and reconnect a loving couple. The threat in South Africa is contained, and team returns (with a tease that one member of the team is not what he seems). Meanwhile, in Costa Rica, we get the start of Batman and Blue Beetle deal with a separate threat involving a creature stealing local children into a bizarre looking forest.
