The Second Season of Arcane: League of Legends picks up immediately after Jinx's (Ella Purnell) attack which managed to somehow only kill the minor supporting characters leaving Jayce (Kevin Alejandro), Caitlyn (Katie Leung), and Mel (Toks Olagundoye) largely unscathed and the other counselors only wounded - although Caitlyn does suffer the loss of her mother. Not knowing about his friend's secret experiments, Jayce blames the attack for Viktor's (Harry Lloyd) unusual condition.
Events are entirely focused on Piltover with no time spent in the underground or an appearance by Jinx. A large part of the premiere also features Vi (Hailee Steinfeld) struggling to figure out where she now fits in the world, at first refusing Caitlyn's offer to join the enforcers. However, an attack from Silco's old friends attempting to finish the job at the memorial for the fallen proves to be the push Vi needed to join up. While focused on loss, anger, and uncertainty of our heroes, the episode does what it needs to do in bridging the two seasons and setting up a new group of heroes armed with Hextech to take down the remaining baddies including Vi's sister.
