Wrapping up the Vengeance of the Moon Knight run, Vengeance of the Moon Knight #9 gives us Marc Spector fulfilling the debt he made to save Reese. Khonshu comes for payment, and the payment the god wants is the life of the man who dared impersonate one of his hands: the false Moon Knight Maximillian Coleridge must die.
Moon Knight finds a way to fulfill his god's wishes (by momentarily killing Coleridge and then restarting his heart as well as planting fear with the community about the consequences of those who cross Moon Knight and his god). Honestly, I don't think killing off the character of the Shroud would have been the worst thing (and we certainly know Marc is capable, an even willing, given the right circumstances). However, what we get here does open up some new possibilities. Playing a dangerous game puts Reese's life potentially in danger as we'll have to wait and see what games Khonshu might play with his sons in the new Fist of Khonshu series.
