The second issue of the new volume focus on Cyclops leading his team of Magik, Kid Omega, Psylocke, Juggernaut, and Temper into the field. Arriving in San Francisco looking for a mutant, the X-Men find the city under siege from an alien invasion (or so it seems). In reality, the new mutant, Ben Liu, is causing the situation without even being aware of it.
The X-Men defuse the situation and fake Ben's death taking him back north to their new base, returning home successfully. The comic feels like a throwback issue in many ways with the team of X-Men rescuing a new mutant from a world not ready for them with a little humor and character interaction thrown in. I will say, of the two new titles, this is the team the is a little more packed with characters I enjoy (and also has Magneto who has yet to play a big role in either issue so far). We also get Juggernaut being shot out of the X-Men's new ship like a bullet into the alien mothership.
