The season finale starts with both Will (Ramón Rodríguez) and Angie (Erika Christensen) in a good place both romantically and professionally. Angie is being tapped for a potential promotion to the GBI and Will has finally made peace with his past. Together the pair look to be on the path to starting a life together with their on-again/off-again phase finally moving into something more stable. And then a decision Angie made at the end of last season comes back to haunt them.
As expected, given how it was teased the previous week, we discover Crystal (Chapel Oaks) is the serial killer targeting pedophiles. Angie discovers this only hours before Will and Faith (Iantha Richardson) who track the unknown killer to her latest target. In the woods, at Crystal's latest hunting ground, everything falls apart. With Angie still tightlipped about the entire story, Will delves into the original case and makes conclusions that he cannot ignore.
The episode offers two potential endings. First we see what happens if Will helps Angie sweep everything up and we see the life and family they build together. Alternatively, back to reality, we see him arrest her. While the happier ending would make for some pretty good episodes moving forward, it wouldn't really be Will Trent. Unless Christensen is leaving the series I'm guessing there will be far more to this story, perhaps Ormewood (Jake McLaughlin) being dragged in an another attempt to protect his partner. Whatever we get, it's likely not to be the happy ending we're teased with here.
