While teasing a bit of our hero's past, Space Ghost #2 complete the origin of how Jan and Jace came to live and work with Space Ghost. Taking them back to Ghost Planet to keep them safe in the short term, Space Ghost is quickly annoyed and impressed by the precocious youngsters who get into his stuff, steal his spaceship, but also help him defeat an Energy Monster that could have destroyed him.
Continuing the Batman origin vibes of the first issue we get something very similar here with Space Ghost swearing in the pair (and Blip) as his new partners which should remind longtime comic readers of Batman swearing in Robin in the Batcave which has been recreated several times over the years. While we having seen the trio work together yet officially, and we still don't know the monkey's importance, the two issues work well in establishing a foundation for the comic moving forward.
