After the odd interlude last month, Wonder Woman #8 returns to the Sovereign storyline with Diana a prisoner of the group's creepy leader who attempts to the reeducation of Wonder Woman through a Lasso of Lies. Diana's story is divided in to the reality with her fighting the visions and listening to the religious dribble of the villain instructing a woman on her proper place and the 50s style visions of her attempting to be the perfect wife.
We finally get the return of Yara, Cassie, and Donna Troy who do a bit of torture of their own to find their missing friend, but the majority of the issue sticks with Diana who, to the Sovereign's shock, does the impossible by resisting and eventually breaking free from the lasso's control. While this technically starts a new arc, the comic ends with Wonder Woman free and her hand around the throat of her adversary, so it will be interesting to see where things go from here.
