Yelena Belova gets a new series set in the not-so-sleepy suburbs where her attempt to settle down and find herself, while working as a assassin mentor via the Internet, is interrupted by her noticing the movements of a company known as Armament taking interest in her new home, buying out her favorite corner coffee shop, and sending assassins after her neighbor (assassins who include one of Yelena's old mentees).
While I'm happy to see Yelena get her own series, I'm not thrilled with the idea of suburban White Widow (one we don't even get in costume n this first issue other than in a flashback to a fight with Captain America). Armament provides a mystery for Yelena to solve and shake her out of suburban boredom, but I don't know that there's enough here to bring me back for a second issue for a series that feels like it will have a drawn-out tease before revealing its secrets.
