The Fourth Season of The Dragon Prince, rebranded as Mystery of Aaravos, picks us the loose thread off the imprisoned archmage Aaravos (Erik Dellums) and the plans of Claudia (Racquel Belmonte), her boyfriend (Benjamin Callins), and her resurrected father (Jason Simpson) to release him. Working to prevent this, and continue to try and bring the human realm closer to their neighbors, are Callum (Jack De Sena), and Rayla (Paula Burrows) along with the Dragon Prince Azymondias.
The Fourth Season offers more of what fans expect with the start of a new quest for our heroes and a race to reach the prize before the other side (this time taking them deep into the Earth to talk with another dragon). The B-stories struggle a bit as we get relationship and religious/political motivations of tertiary characters not central to the main story, and Callum's inability to get over his issues with Rayla gets drawn-out a bit longer than it needed to. As for our big-bad, remaining trapped (for now), Aaravos isn't a big part of the story other than handing his acolytes help on the quest and in temporarily possessing Callum foreshadowing a potential problem for our heroes in upcoming seasons.
