Created for preschool viewers, with plenty of merchandise to sell based on its characters, Batwheels brings the Batmobile and several other vehicles to life in an odd Batman meets Cars mashup. The first three episodes of the series give us Batman, Robin, and Batgirl along with several Bat-villains the trio put in jail. However, with the heroes lured away, a break-in at the Batcave calls for unorthodox security procedures by the Bat-Computer which brings the Batmobile to life. Over the course of the episode more Bat-Family vehicles will be brought to life as will the vehicles of the villains we saw in the opening.
Our vehicular heroes include Bam (Jacob Bertrand), Redbird (Jordan Reed), Bibi (Madigan Kacmar), Buff (Noah Bentley), and Batwing (Lilimar). Targeting very young viewers, I'm not sure there's enough here to keep the interest of anyone over 5 years-old (even for fans of Batman or Cars) for more than an episode or two given the limitations of the characters' designs, although I will give the show credit for going with the Silver and Bronze Age classic look of Batman and incorporating some well-known artifacts in the cave including the giant penny and the dinosaur (who sadly isn't brought to life).
