The Flash's post-Armageddon season kicks off with a Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy) and Bart (Jordan Fisher) episode as the Flash children discover their visit to the past caused some temporal fissures which need fixing. Heading back to 2013, the pair are able to set the timeline right but in doing so create more trouble with the far earlier formation of the Royal Flush Gang. While everything is apparently set right by the end of the episode, we do get a tease that there may still be some lingering effects waiting for Team Flash to deal with.
With Barry (Grant Gustin) in a coma in 2013, it's our younger speedsters who do all the high-speed heroics. The episode's set up does allow for the older regulars to reprise younger versions of themselves and give us an appearance of Eddie Thawne (Rick Cosnett). The Royal Flush Gang offers some fun here, even if they are missing their more over-the-top comic book appearance. And, because of the youngsters actions in the past, we also get Jay Garrick (John Wesley Shipp) whose own trouble with time travel offers some explanation for his appearance with the older JSA in Stargirl. The episode is also notable for introducing Piper Curda as a temporal scientist who helps the speedsters in 2013 and who feels like a character we may see more of in the present (or possibly in the future?).
