Star Wars: The Bad Batch - Replacements

Given the damage to their ship, the Bad Batch (all voiced by Dee Bradley Baker) crash land on Ordo Moon. Their repairs are slowed by a Moon Dragon stealing one of the ship's parts leading Hunter and Omega (Michelle Ang) heading after the beast on their own. As to what the rest of the crew does in the meantime and why more don't go in search for the only thing which will allow them to take off from the barren moon before they run out of supplies and oxygen... that's not exactly clear. But, hey, Wrecker does build Echo her own room, so, you know, time well spent. The storyline allows Echo to act on her own, and prove herself to Hunter (which couldn't be done had the other members joined in the search), while continuing to foreshadow there is something special about this young clone.

Speaking of foreshadowing, the episode lays down some hints that Wrecker might be the next clone to have trouble with his chip although none of his fellow clones seem concerned with his headaches. The episode gets its name from the other storyline as Crosshair takes control of an elite squad of new recruits rather than clones helping to lay the foundation of the Empire moving away from clones by the time of the original Star Wars. Their mission is a success, other than the clone needing to kill one of his recruits, leading Tarkin (Stephen Stanton) to promote Vice Admiral Rampart (Noshir Dalal) to move forward with the project and leading the Kaminos to make their own plans seeing the potential end to their lucrative deal with the Empire. While the episode pushes multiple plot threads forward, the lazy set-up on the Ordo Moon leaves something to be desired.
