Nicky (Olivia Liang), Henry (Eddie Liu), and Evan (Gavin Stenhouse) head into the Canadian wilderness on the single clue Nicky has to her missing aunt's last known location. Although she doesn't find who she was looking for, Nicky does find what her aunt left behind which may help fill in some of the gaps, answer some of her questions, and prepare her for what is to come. Elsewhere, Zhilan (Yvonne Chapman) and Kerwin Tan (Ludi Lin) grow to trust each other a little more and agree to work together to gather the remaining weapons (including those Kerwin's father has already acquired).
For an episode light one action, other than a relatively short bar fight and Nicky's run-in with a wolf, "Isolation" works by putting character first and pushing Nicky into the unknown. While I think the show could have taken more time than half an episode on her search for the last member of her family that understood her destiny, the episode works push Nicky further on her journey while also exploring the motivations of our two "evil" characters. The episode checks in with Nicky's parents and her siblings, including bringing up more drama concerning Althea's (Shannon Dang) past (an ongoing plotline the series has yet to sell me on).
