Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan - Inshallah
The First Season finale of Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan opens with the first-half of Suleiman's (Ali Suliman) plan revealed. While only moderately successful so far, it seems he is far from finished. The terrorist has stricken a friend of the President (Michael Gaston) with an incurable form of Ebola and put him in direct contact with the leader of the free world. First there is a local bombing in Washington and the discovery of nuclear material at the port. Putting the pieces together, Jack Ryan (John Krasinski) and Greer (Wendell Pierce) head to the hospital to prevent the terrorist from completing his plan.
The pace of the finale is certainly quicker than some of the earlier episodes. While it does offer a final confrontation between Ryan and the terrorist he discovered and has been chasing all season, it does feel a bit rushed (all things considered). Continuing to deepen his relationship with Cathy (Abbie Cornish), Jack reveals the source of his nightmares and scars as the show updates the characters origins to fit more neatly into themes of the season and offer a bit more context behind his push to save Suleiman's son. Wrapping up the arc, but opening up multiple possibilities for the show's Second Season, "Inshallah" ends on a lighter note as we're left to ponder just what is next for Tom Clancy's most famous character.
