Whiskey Cavalier - When in Rome
After the mixed success of their first mission, and a little bit of training, the inter-agency team is sent to Rome where a the head of an Italian Fascist movement has hired a bomb maker in order to create a terrorist attack he can blame on an immigrant threat. As in the previous episode, much of the plot revolves around the growing pains of Will Chase (Scott Foley) and Frankie Trowbridge (Lauren Cohan) working together despite their different views of the world and how to best get the job done. Their bickering trickles down to the rest of the team as well, but when it comes time to save the day the various members pull together to defuse the bomb.
While the differences between Will and Frankie are likely to continue to spark some conflict, three episodes into the series I can't help but wonder how much show creator David Hemingson plans to milk this plotline of the team bickering for 90% of the episode, coming together in the end, and then celebrating (which is already becoming a bit too repetitive very early in the show's run). Hopefully the various elements will start to gel a bit in future episodes while allowing Will to be emphatic without becoming too emotional and allow Frankie to become more of a team player (instead of the one-dimensional character we've seen so far).
