The Flash - Nora
The Flash begins its Fifth Season with Barry (Grant Gustin) and Iris (Candice Patton) getting to know their time-traveling daughter Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy). Temporarily stuck in the time, Nora (who spent last year quietly stalking Barry) introduces herself to the entire family. While at first Barry is reluctant to spend time with Nora, whose mere presence puts his future (and her past) in possible jeopardy, eventually the Flash warms to the idea of having his grown daughter around (especially after she spills the beans about why she really came back into the past). It appears Nora will be sticking around for awhile.
"Nora" offers a meta-villain of the week in Gridlock (Daniel Cudmore), who turns out to be pretty damn forgettable (but does put a plane in danger allowing Flash, Nora, and Kid Flash to all work together to phase a crashing 747 through the city). "Nora" is more memorable the title character and for seeing Flash use a variety of costumes before settling on a new version (for the record, I love that the Flash ring is finally part of the show's canon, and the new costume is pretty good - but I'm really not sold on that awkward looking mask). Along with an appearance from the original suit, the episode has plenty of callbacks including Barry using Harrison Wells' words of wisdom about the Speed Force and the revelation that the original timeline, involving the Flash's disappearance, has been restored (which explains Nora wanting to spend as much time as possible with her father). We also get a glimpse of Cicada (Chris Klein), who apparently will be an ongoing threat, and a mystery for Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) to solve in order to reconnect with her chilly alter-ego.
