With the trio of world killers united, Kara (Melissa Benoist) calls on the help of Brainiac-5 (Jesse Rath) to use Legion technology and send the Girl of Steel, Alex (Chyler Leigh), and Lena (Katie McGrath) into the dark dimension where Sam's (Odette Annable) consciousness is trapped along with the human consciousness of the other killers which are slowly dying. Unable to be sure that she can trust Lena, Supergirl enlists the help of Guardian (Mehcad Brooks) to confirm the Luthor stockpile of Kryptonite (which Lena was using to keep Reign sedated) has been extinguished as Lena claims... which sounds like just the kind of really bad idea that could be the first domino to fall in Luthor villain turn.
Even with the eclipse, caused by "Kryptonian dark magic," limiting Supergirl's effectiveness, it's all hands on deck (well, except for Guardian) in the big showdown between our heroes and the trio of big bads, and Alex even gets her own new super-hero suit courtesy of Winn (Jeremy Jordan). When the dust clears James makes an important decision regarding Lena (who drops a bombshell of her own), two of the world killers are vanquished, the evil Fortress is destroyed, but Reign is still at large (with even more power and a new mission to perform). Highlights include Alex's new suit, foreshadowing of trouble with Lena down the line, and Brainiac-5 who continues to be my favorite Legionnaire as he steals every scene in which he appears.
