Elektra #2

In the aftermath of her heroic action to save a casino worker from an abusive work environemnt, Elektra plans to put the entire series of events behind her and move on a soon as possible. Those plans fall through rather quickly with sudden appearance of a generic robotic version of the Royal Flush Gang that push the assassin into showing off more of her skills for her new admirer.

Despite discovering Arcade's interest in both the casino and her, Elektra isn't quite quick enough to avoid becoming one of the villain's latest contestants on Murderworld where she'll have to fight to survive for the amusement of the gamblers.

While neither the concept of Murderworld nor the involvement of Arcade does much for me, I can't help noticing some comparisions between the first couple of issues of Elektra and Marvel's cancelled Scarlet Spider series focusing on a former villain put into the role of hero reluctantly. Personally, I'd much rather be reading Scarlet Spider, but this will do for now. Worth a look.

[Marvel, $3.99]
