Stranger Things - Chapter Two: The Weirdo on Maple Street

Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin), and Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) decide to bring back the rain-soaked Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) to Mike's house, although Lucas shares some serious doubts about trusting the weirdo they found in the woods. While getting to know his new friend, Mike begins to suspect Eleven knows something about Will (Noah Schnapp) and may be able to help the boys find their missing friend. Meanwhile the police organize town searches through the woods searching for any sign of the missing Will, without finding any new clues as to what happened to him. The discovery of the murdered diner owner only raises more questions to the unusual events in Hawkins.

Along with introducing Eleven to the boys, "Chapter Two: The Weirdo on Maple Street" also expands the role of Will's older brother Jonathan (Charlie Heaton) who confronts his estranged father (Ross Partridge) and also stumbles across Nancy (Natalia Dyer) partying with Steve (Joe Keery) and his friends. Meanwhile, Joyce's (Winona Ryder) tenuous grasp on sanity is shaken as she begins to receive strange phone calls she believes are coming from her missing son.

The season's second episode juggles several storylines setting up the Steve/Nancy/Jonathan triangle which will dominate their storyline, beginning Joyce's descent into what everyone perceives as madness but will lead to important clues, and most importantly forming the friendship between Eleven and Mike which will eventually offer answers to the odd events, the missing Will Byers, and the creature loose in the town because of the experiments of Hawkins Laboratory.
