Family is the common theme in both the A and B stories of "Meet the Parents." While Johnny (Aaron Ashmore) escorts Pawter (Sarah Power) home to Kresh to plead with her disapproving mother to step in and save Old Town, Dutch (Hannah John-Kamen) and D'Avin's (Luke Macfarlane) simple bounty gets complicated by Khlyen (Rob Stewart) who, while digging for answers about what makes D'Avin so special, accidentally swaps the two men's consciousness allowing for D'Avin's reunion with his father and giving Dutch the opportunity to talk directly to the man who made her what she is today.
D'Avin's mind switch allows him to make some peace with his overbearing father (and save the man's life from Khylen). It also allows Dutch to come to a new understanding with the man who raised her and turned her into a highly-skilled assassin. As for Johnny, the chilly reception from Pawter's mother isn't the only trouble the RAC agent and doctor will have to deal with as biological weapon is realeased by one of the house-guests to take out the family. The result will push Pawter into a new role and force Johnny to make a decision which could divide his loyalties and likely cause conflict later this season.
