The number of a locksmith (Neal Huff) leads Reese (Jim Caviezel) into danger as it pits The Machine's agents against The Voice who goes to great lengths all to kill a single target. Wreaking havoc by planting bombs around the entire city, The Voice thinks three moves ahead of Reese and Finch (Michael Emerson) by trapping Reese and Fusco (Kevin Chapman) within the emptied precinct with a host of killers now on the loose.
Heading into the show's 100th episode, the B-story finally reunites Root (Amy Acker) and Shaw (Sarah Shahi). With Shaw still troubled by the mind games Samaritan played with her it takes some rather unorthodox thinking by Root to bring her friend back in from the cold. Luckily, that's what Root does best. With Elias (Enrico Colantoni) getting involved to help track down The Voice's bomb maker, and Reese finally cluing Fusco into what it truly going on the team is at full force for the first time all season. Ending on a calm moment before the storm, "Sotto Voice" gives the fans the group together one last time before the show begins it's final arc which not all will survive.
