Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. - Failed Experiments

If you can't control humans then turn them all into super-heroes you can control. "Failed Experiments" not only reveals the origins of Hive (Brett Dalton) as a Kree experiment but also the creature's current plans to continue that experiment and transform all humans into Inhumans who he has the power to control. As evil plans go, giving everyone super-powers doesn't rank all that high. Of course the fact that the experiment doesn't work and is killing all his test subjects is a hurdle. The episode also teases the idea that part of Daisy (Chloe Bennet) is fighting Hive's control, although we don't see much evidence of that when she's beating Mack (Henry Simmons) half to death to protect the plans of her new best pal.

There are several pieces of "Failed Experiments" that are clunky, with Daisy's inconsistent attitude being just one. The show's need to turn Lincoln (Luke Mitchell) from the character who was introduced last season to a brash (and stupid) hothead isn't doing either the character or actor in favors. Also, the appearance and design of the two Kree warriors who Hive lures to Earth look more like a low-rent wrestling tag team than a legitimate threat. With the assassination attempt a complete bust, and Hive proving mostly invulnerable to conventional weapons, you have to wonder how long it's going to take for someone to think up a solution so obvious Xander Harris was able to devise it.
