Separated after a large earthquake, Scorpion sets out to save the city from a gas build-up and potential explosion. Forced into couple's counselling by Paige (Katharine McPhee), a bickering Walter (Elyes Gabel) and Toby (Eddie Kaye Thomas) are forced to work together. With the rest of the team spending most of the episode working to save a trapped family, a visually-impaired Sylvester (Ari Stidham) and Ralph (Riley B. Smith) race to turn off the city's gas a the source.
As is the show's custom, "Fractured" ups the ante by turning the earthquake into a monumental challenge capable of destroying an entire city that no one but our geniuses is aware of (let alone capable enough to stop). The Toby/Walter friction seems to come out of nowhere, and it's explanation certainly makes sense, but better set-up in the lead-up to this episode would have helped saved a subplot the shows spends an awful lot of time on this week. Sylvester and Ralph get the best story of the bunch and I'm happy to see the show beginning to utilize it's youngest star more like it did earlier in the series.
