Pretty Little Liars - Songs of Experience

Although all four of the Liars plan on returning to school only Hanna (Ashley Benson) manages to make to Rosedale High on time as Emily's (Shay Mitchell) plans get derailed by her skittish house guest (a subplot I'm already tiring of), Aria (Lucy Hale) chooses to hide out in the Brew, and Spencer (Troian Bellisario) continues to seek answers about Charles DiLaurentis first from Alison (Sasha Pieterse) and then from Jason (Drew Van Acker), but the answers she receives raise only more questions. The search for secrets within the DiLaurentis home reveals proof that Jason's imaginary childhood friend "Charlie" is far less a figment of his imagination then he was led to believe.

Hanna eventually manages to coral the Liars to speak collectively with Dr. Sullivan (Annabeth Gish) but for the first time since their return from the dollhouse A makes his presence known and demands the foursome's silence. It seems the calm has passed. Although the girls never make to therapy, they do find a release of sorts with being honest to each other about one of the games A forced them to play in the dollhouse. The fact that their actions didn't hurt each other isn't as comforting as it might otherwise be given the realization of what A's tricks made them do and the point of his lesson.

Along with A's return, "Songs of Experience" continues to tease a possible relationship between Toby's (Keegan Allen) partner Lorenzo (Travis Winfrey) and Alison, something Toby is firmly against while Spencer is far more open-minded, and puts the recently-released Andrew (Brandon Jones) firmly in the Liars' enemy camp possibly providing A with another minion to wreak havoc in their lives. I'm still very much on the fence about Lorenzo, who I still suspect (given the show's history) may have a hidden agenda, but I'm more sold on the possibility of the pairing given Spencer's reaction to the idea.
