Beauty and the Beast - Bob & Carol & Vincent & Cat
While continuing to deal with the struggle of moving in together and planning their wedding, Vincent (Jay Ryan) and Catherine (Kristin Kreuk) also have to deal with the appearance of a pair of agents (Alan Van Sprang and Natasha Henstridge) from Homeland Security who show up to investigate the recent attacks that left one Federal agent dead and another in critical condition. Seeing an older version of themselves better at balancing work and home demands, Vincent and Catherine take an immediate liking to the pair who it turns out aren't exactly who they appear to be.
In a prime example of the laziness of the show Bob and Carol are non-specific bad guys working for shady purposes involving beasts who simply bluff their way into a New York police station where no one even considers to check their credentials (which Catherine discovers are bogus immediately after growing suspicious of the pair). Henstridge and Van Sprang help liven things up for an episode but their backstory could certainly use some work. The method in which Bob and Carol work together (shooting each other's bullets off-target to take down victims) is ridiculous and over-complicated as the show struggles mightily to explain why it would even be necessary (especially as those they target could have been shot directly from any number of New Your City buildings in direct sight of the target).
