Forever - Dead Men Tell Long Tales

The murder of the captain of a salvage ship alerts Henry (Ioan Gruffudd) to the fact that the ship he was murdered on (the first time) has been found. While helping Jo (Alana De La Garza) and Hanson (Donnie Keshawarz) solve the case Henry becomes increasingly obsessed with the ship and what happened to those aboard after his murder.

The salvage of the ship returns Adam (Burn Gorman) to the show who introduces an intriguing idea to our protagonist. Adam believes the only weapon that can kill and immortal is the one that first took their life. While the spear blade that killed him has long disappeared, the frenemy steers Henry to the gun which shot him aboard the ship 200 years ago. There's only one way to test Adam's theory, and I'm not expecting Henry to take it any time soon, but the return of the gun, which Henry "borrows" from police evidence, opens up several new possibilities including whether or no someone else killed with the same weapon would suffer Henry's fate.

"Dead Men Tell Long Tales" is also notable for the guest-spot by Cuba Gooding Jr. as the millionaire who banked the salvage operation. Once cleared as a suspect the rich man wastes little time hitting up Jo for a date. Luckily the detective accepted allowing her to be in the right place at the right time before the killer (Kate Rogal) took a second victim. The end of the episode suggests Gooding may stick around for a another episode or two so we'll have to see how Jo's new romance effects her relationship with Henry over the remainder of the season.
