Searching for a mole inside the local Los Angeles offices of the CIA, Walter (Elyes Gabel) and his team uncover a lovelorn computer nerd who has unwittingly agreed to hand over a series of chemicals to a woman not realizing that together they can be weaponized to create poison gas. To retrieve the chemicals Walter will have to stand-in for a CIA agent with access to the final ingredient and stall the attractive, but very deadly, seductress (Nazneen Contractor) giving Happy (Jadyn Wong) and Toby (Eddie Kaye Thomas) time to find the stolen chemicals.
With Paige (Katharine McPhee) realizing she has begun, at least subconsciously in her dreams, to think about Walter romantically she's called in to help Walter respond to the woman's advances as any normal man would. The previously show has teased Walter's interest in Paige, as it does in its closing scene despite his protests against romantic love through the episode (methinks he protests too much), but its nice to see Paige at least begin to consider what a romantic partnership with the genius might be like.
As a big fan of the now-cancelled Covert Affairs I was pleasantly surprised to see Contractor who is put to good use here. The episode also has some fun moments between Happy and Toby (Eddie Kaye Thomas) concerning some not-quite-perfected CIA equipment and an over-the-top action climax notable for both Walter jumping out of a burning plane (which just happens to conveniently stop on its own? What? Not budget for a big explosion?) and Sylvester (Ari Stidham) sort of catching a bag full of deadly chemicals.
