For the show's 100th episode Hawaii Five-0 offers a bizarre retelling of events from the show's first episode shuffling the roles of several key characters and allowing McGarret's father (William Sadler) to live. Of course the events are merely the drug-induced delusions of McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) in his attempt to withstand the torture and questioning at the hands of Wo Fat (Mark Dacascos) who has returned to the island in an attempt to force the commander to reveal the location of Wo Fat's father.
"Ina Paha" offers a alternate-reality look at the cast, most notably with Kono (Grace Park) as a pro-surfing celebrity and Danny (Scott Caan) in charge of the Five-0 Task Force proving to be even more of a loose canon than McGarret is in the show's regular timeline by torturing information out of Victor Hesse (James Marsters). After discovering McGarret's abduction, Five-0 calls on the help of another familiar face (Will Yun Lee) to track down Wo Fat.
Other than offering the opportunity to put the characters in slightly different roles (only some of which make sense to anyone besides McGarrett's drug-addled mind), the real takeaway from the show's 100th episode is the resolution of the Wo Fat storyline including the reveal of the killer's connection to Doris McGarrett (Christine Lahti) and the final battle between Steve and Wo Fat which only one survives. That final confrontation, and the team racing to find McGarrett, sells the story more than the alternate flashbacks (although crazy Danny Williams is quite fun to watch).
