Po (Mick Wingert) senses his friends pulling back from him as his mastery of Kung Fu grows to include the Dragon Warrior performing an ancient attack known as Thundering Wind Hammer not seen successfully performed in a generation. To explain the concern of his friends, Shifu (Fred Tatasciore) shares the harsh truth about previous incarnations of the Furious Five whose most powerful members have all turned evil including Shifu's former teammate Fenghuang (Wendie Malick).
Rather than risk becoming the greatest threat the Valley of Peace, and realizing no member of the Five is comfortable with him remaining in the Jade Palace, Po decides to leave forever. The Dragon Warrior's exile takes him into the mountains where he encounters Fenghuang. Accidentally letting the homicidal owl know that Oogway is dead, Po rushes to make it back to the Jade Palace before Fenghuang takes down Shifu and the Furious Five.
Offering to teach Po all of the Seven Impossible Moves, Fenghuang makes one last play to win over Po who decides to trick the villain and convince both himself and his friends that the Dragon Warrior won't be turning evil any time soon. Although the episode doesn't say much for Tigress (Kari Wahlgren), Monkey (James Sie), Viper (Lucy Liu), Mantis (Max Koch), and Crane (Amir Talai) as friends, the episode does include a nice arc for Po who faces the knowledge of how his growing power could eventually corrupt him and face down the darker path which simply can't stand up to Po's optimism and goofy nature.
