Returning from the show's mid-season finale the roles of several characters are changed. Cyrus (Peter Gadiot) is free of both the Red Queen (Emma Rigby) and the bottle but only because the Knave's (Michael Socha) wish trapped him as the new genie. Alice's (Sophie Lowe) quest to find the man she loved may be over, but she will have to put off a happy ending with Cyrus and work alongside the Red Queen to save the Knave before Jafar (Naveen Andrews) gets his hands on the genie's lamp.
As the three search for the lamp, the Knave is found by Lizard (Lauren McKnight) who becomes his new master. At first Cyrus relishes his new job of genie giving an old friend everything she desires, but when she desires him to feel something more towards her the Knave learns firsthand that magic always comes with a price. "Nothing to Fear" has fun with the Knave's new role, but the final scene with Lizard, a character I quite liked, is heartbreaking.
The other thread of the storyline introduces Jafar's new partner as the wizard decides to free the Jabberwocky (Peta Sergeant) to help him capture the third genie and use their combined power to redefine all magic. Despite the ominous intro, the creature isn't what you'd expect. However, she certainly proves to be at least as dangerous as Jafar and certainly not to be trusted.
