Despite revealing Ezra's (Ian Harding) deceit to the rest of the Liars, and the fact that he's been working on a book about Alison's (Sasha Pieterse) murder/disappearance for years (which he claims to believe one of the Liars may be responsible for), Aria (Lucy Hale) refuses to accept the fact that the man she loves could be A. Slowly spiraling out of control, Aria lets herself into Ezra's apartment and begins frantically searching for answers. Not liking what she finds, Aria's time in Ezra's apartment quickly devolves from investigation to trashing her secret boyfriend's apartment.
To avoid being sent off to rehab Spencer (Troian Bellisario) tries to prove to her parents she can kick the pills on her own while attempting to mend fences (neither of which she proves to be able to accomplish). When Paige (Lindsey Shaw) catches her in a lie Emily (Shay Mitchell) is forced to expose the truth about Alison being alive and on the run from A, neither of whom Emily's girlfriend wants her involved with.
In the other storyline Hanna's (Ashley Benson) love life gets complicated by getting Gabriel Holbrook (Sean Faris) to help Travis' (Luke Kleintank) father in court and then making a pass at him, not unlike the one she made on Travis just a few episodes back. She also stops Aria from make a life-changing confession to the school principal, but neither she nor Hanna can stop their friend from running from their support and fleeing town.
With the season quickly coming to a close, "She's Come Undone" ends with two of the Liars facing complete meltdowns and the three of the Liars confused and conflicted as to the state of their love lives. Although the second-half of the season has strongly suggested Ezra is A, the scene of A reading Ezra's scattered pages and the existence of a novel near publication seem to support Ezra's version of events. Willing to agree, but only grudgingly accept, Paige's terms, Emily's relationship is already on rocky ground before the potential bombshell Paige drops to end the episode. As to Aria and Spencer, with only three episodes remaining I'd expected the two most devastated Liars to suck it up long enough for whatever surprises A, and the season finale, has in store.
