Marty (Don Cheadle) deals with trouble on multiple fronts as Lukas’ (T.I.), aware that Dre (Mekhi Phifer) is attempting to push him out, sets fire to the company he helped build by firing all the key positions, shutting down production, and blocking any attempts to resolve the situation leaving everyone involved with the day-to-day business (including Kaan and Associates) unpaid. Meanwhile, Marty also has to deal with Roscoe’s (Donis Leonard Jr.) new crush (Bex Taylor-Klaus) whose influence on his son (and their drunken night together) continues to rub him the wrong way.
With hats in hand, Marty, Clyde (Ben Schwartz), Will (Ryan Gaul), Doug (Josh Lawson), Caitlin (Genevieve Angelson), and Jeannie (Kristen Bell) try to convince Lukas to do the right thing for himself (and more importantly, their client). Although unsuccessfully, Jeannie stays around to find a solution that not only gets the company what they need but still find a way to stick it to Marty in the process and prove her superiority.
"Pushback" continues Jeannie's passive-aggressive moves that sooner are later are going to have to be dealt with head-on. After teasing it for several episodes, Clyde (when he's not shamelessly self-promoting the account he has still yet to land) is the first to comment on the weird chemistry between Doug and Caitlin which will no doubt not end well for Doug who is already deathly afraid of being murdered by the gangster whose dog he accidentally murdered.
