Glee - The End of Twerk

With Nationals on the way Mr. Shue (Matthew Morrison) continues to try and push the New Directions out of their comfort zone by embracing twerking. Sue (Jane Lynch) takes to the airwaves on the latest "Sue's Corner" to call for the banning of twerking in the entire state of Ohio. Not standing down, Mr. Shue leads the Glee Club in the halls and classrooms of McKinley High School in a twerkfest during a performance of Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines." Sue's plan fire Mr. Schuester for his pubic disobedience fails when he enlists the help of the Gee Club to instruct the local school board on a history of forbidden dances none of which are seen as remotely scandalous today as when they first appeared. Other stories of the week involve Unique (Alex Newell) getting bullied and his use of the the girls' bathroom which leads bathroom riots across the high school and Bree (Erinn Westbrook) deciding to tell Marley (Melissa Benoist) that she slept with Jake (Jacob Artist) causing the couple to break-up. Although the second story is more likely to have lasting effects over the course of the season, it is nice to see the show return to the issue of bullying which has been absent for quite awhile. In New York Rachel with auditions gearing up for Funny Girl, Rachel (Lea Michele) feels the need to rebel and shake of the malaise following Finn's death first by trying to pass off a wig new hairdo and later by trying to convince Kurt (Chris Colfer) to get tattoos. Although his drunken tattoo adventure doesn't get him the desired results, it does however help both Rachel and Kurt continue to move on from Finn's death. Other music performances Rachel and Paolo San Pablo (Ioan Gruffudd) sing "You Are Woman, I Am Man" from Funny Girl, Unique performs Beyoncé's "If I Were a Boy," Marley performs Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball," and putting the twerking to rest the New Directions end the episode with a performance of The Royal Concept's "On Our Way."
