After four weeks in the hospital Rayna (Connie Britton) finally returns home, moving back in with Teddy (Eric Close) and the girls (Lennon Stella, Maisy Stella), as Juliette (Hayden Panettiere) continues to promote her new album while growing more and more frustrated when questions continually come back to her rival's health. Both also have to deal with the new head of label (Oliver Hudson) who isn't impressed with Juliette's new mature sound (or her latest album sales) and signs a new artist (Aubrey Peeples) to capture the teen bubblegum market Juliette desires to leave behind. He also sets out to woo Will (Chris Carmack) away from Rayna's new label and sign a new solo contract with the company.
Needing to up her profile, Juliette decides on a public trip down memory lane to the trailer park where she was raised which gets a little more personal than she planned. Learning that he may never play the guitar again the way he used to, Deacon (Charles Esten) puts off physical therapy and begins selling off all of his guitars. Scarlett (Clare Bowen) does her best to try and shake her uncle out of his funk as her best friend Zoey (Chaley Rose) inspires Gunnar (Sam Palladio) to dig deep and final write a new song that doesn't resemble a jingle.
"Never No More" thankfully give us a break on the Teddy/Peggy (Kimberly Williams-Paisley) fake pregnancy storyline by beginning to deal with the fallout of the accident that left one, perhaps both artists, as shells of their former selves. Although Gunnar signs his big new deal, he does so mainly after realizing just how talented Gunnar is in comparison and decides to cash in while he can. The introduction of the teen reality-TV star and the obnoxious new label head certainly shakes things up as well as both Rayna and Juliette are left questioning their futures.
