Transformers Prime: Beast Hunters - Persuasion

With Ratchet (Jeffrey Combs) captured by the Decepticons and Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen) and the Autobots unable to stop their enemies from retrieving the final pieces of technology the need to rebuild the Omega Lock, Megatron (Frank Welker) attempts to appeal to his captive to finish his work with Synthetic Energon and and help transform Cyberton in the thriving planet it once was before the Transformers' war consumed it.

Despite vowing to allow the Autobots base to be unmolested, Megatron sends Starscream (Steve Blum) and his armada to destroy the Autobots bunker. The apparent successful attack is only thwarted by the ease which the Decepticons are deceived and Starscream's laziness to make sure he actually destroyed the right bunker in the military installation (a particularly lazy twist that doesn't really feel all that well thought-out).

As the episode comes to an end Megatron finally elicits Ratchet's acceptance and the Autobots, with the help of Raf (Andy Pessoa), work scrounge a piece of Laserbeak in order to track it back the the Decepticons command ship. The episode does a good job focusing on what a good salesman Megatron can be when he wants to be and the Decepticon leader's understanding of how best to entice Ratchet to help rather than threaten or extract the information from him by force (although Megatron does try those methods first). However, other than Ratchet being convinced to help the Decepticons, there's little about "Persuasion" that moves the season long arc forward.
