Graceland - Hair of the Dog

Briggs (Daniel Sunjata) tries to help Charlie (Vanessa Ferlito) get back on her feet while trying to hide her rash decision to shoot up in front of Quinn (Christopher Redman) from the FBI and her Graceland team. With the bust falling through, and the death of her CI (Christopher Redman), Charlie is called into give her official statement forcing Briggs to suggest an out-of-the-box solution to get her through the interview and save both of their careers by shooting her up with a small enough dose to let her pass for normal while giving her deposition to the FBI high on heroin.

When Paige (Serinda Swan) and Tuturro (Manny Montana) bust the underwater sub bringing in drugs for Bello (Gbenga Akinnagbe), but don't find the drugs which are sitting safely at the bottom of the ocean in a torpedo, Mike (Aaron Tveit) uses his new position as bodyguard to convince Bello to recover the drugs on their own and cut  the most powerful drug cartel in Southern California completely out of the deal.

Introducing Tuturro as a Navy SEAL who can find the torpedo, and does thanks to the help of the FBI, the plan starts going south when Briggs learns the torpedo is booby-trapped, Mike realizes Bello plans to kill Johnny when he services with his heroin, and an underwater explosion ruins everyone's day (especially Mike who believes his friend is dead). Briggs' silence on the subject leads to a tense physical altercation between the two (but doesn't make much sense as he should have told Mike the mission was a success). Although Tuturro is able to make it out with the drugs, Mike is immediately suspicious that the housing is only half full of heroin they expected (especially after learning his boss had time alone with the evidence).

During Briggs' attempt to help Charlie the episode reveals a little more about Graceland's mysterious commander, which is later confirmed when Mike shadows him not to a drug drop but to an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting for former drug users. I guess Charlie and Briggs really do have something in common. "Hair of the Dog" continues to play both sides of the Briggs' mystery by offering plenty for Mike to be suspicious about but never revealing any hard evidence, or motive, for the man to be stealing heroin from drug busts.
