After his resignation Arthur (Peter Gallagher) comes clean to Annie (Piper Perabo) about his relationship with the Puma (Manolo Cardona) and works with Annie and Auggie (Christopher Gorham) to try and ferret out Henry Wilcox's (Gregory Itzin) end game to his twisted machinations. This leads Annie to begin tailing Henry around D.C. to an energy services business with ties to Columbia, and possibly to the Puma and his terrorist organization. It also involves Auggie finding Henry's mole inside the CIA, who he believes to be Seth Newman (Tim Griffin).
Unable to investigate any security breach her husband's affair may have caused, Joan (Kari Matchett) tasks Auggie to begin poking around off-the-record to see if he can identify Arthur's mistress and confirm he hasn't leaked any intell potentially damaging to the CIA. In doing so Auggie confirms that Arthur's affair is a complete illusion to help hide his relationship with his illegitimate son, but to make sure Joan is able to pass her mandated polygraph, and help fast-track Joan into Arthur's old job, Auggie and Annie are forced to keep silent about what they know.
Things get serious for Annie really quickly in the episode's final 10 minutes as Seth comes home to find Annie snooping through his apartment leading to a struggle, and attack in the middle of the road not far from his home, and the CIA lead counsel floating dead in the Potomac. If the prospect of trying to cover up the entire incident wasn't enough to deal with, Annie also gets a call from Henry who wants Ms. Walker to head down to Colombia and stop the Puma's latest planned terrorist action against American interests - by any means necessary.
The season's second episode is tense throughout as some lies and half-truths are uncovered, as Joan works out the truth about Arthur's affair for herself, while others secrets still have yet to be broached (such as the full extent of Auggie's knowledge concerning Arthur's Colombian connections). Although Annie makes headway in catching glimpses of Henry's actions, his overall plan remains illusive and it's important to remember the former head of the CIA is not without a certain amount of skill in misdirection and shrouding his true purposes.
