Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness - Qilin Time

After Mr. Ping (James Hong) is embarrassed in the noodle shop by his customers that don't believe his story about meeting a legendary monster in the woods when he was a boy, Ping guilts Po (Mick Wingert) on a father-son excursion to find proof of the Qilin's (Wingert) existence. Po and Ping run into a reformed General Tsin (R. Lee Ermey) on his way to the village to open up a tunic shop. The fact that his crazy former enemy believes in the creature doesn't fill Po with any more confidence about the pair's wild goose chase.

Camping for the night, Po confronts his father about the number of white lies Ping has told force his son's involvement in some ridiculous scheme and explains why the Dragon Warrior can't believe his father's story of the Qilin. Only after separating from his father does Po learn that the Qilin is real, but hardly the stuff of legend.

When Tsin overhears Po tell his father the truth about the creature, the mad general heads off into the forest to destroy the creature of "pure evil." Po has no choice but to chase after Tsin and save the Qilin from the Panda's big fat mouth. Together Po and Ping are able to save their new friend and convince the general he imagined the entire episode.

"Qilin Time" gives Po some much needed time with his father as well as present a nice moral lesson given Ping's tendancy to stretch the truth whenever it suits him. The episode's end is a little goofy, as the Qilin chases the pair into the village to help restore Ping's honor, but I thoroughly enjoyed Po's unexpected tea and crumpets sequence with the creature from earlier in the episode.
