Nikita - Invisible Hand

With Division closing down and President Spencer (Michelle Nolden) officially signing each of their pardons, Michael (Shane West) grows concerned that Nikita (Maggie Q) is unwilling to leave her search for Amanda (Melinda Clarke) behind, especially after her new friend Smith (R.J. Parrish) kills an asset of Nikita and makes an attempt on her life as well. Birkhoff (Aaron Stanford) and Sonya (Lyndie Greenwood) are able to hack into The Shop's secret satellite network where they learn of The Shop's interest in a Nobel Prize winning Sudanese human rights activist the group has targeted for messing with their supply lines of Third World guinea pigs.

Given her own experiences with human trafficking Alex (Lyndsy Fonseca) is offered the role as a special envoy of the United Nations by the Nobel Prize winner whose assassination she helps prevent. Tracing a text from Amanda to Smith, Nikita and Michael head to The Shop's secret facility where the pair don't find Amanda but do grab one of The Shop's doctors who has crafted the group a deadly nano-toxin triggered by a microwave transmission from the group's satellite. Realizing that the Nobel Prize winner is the target, and likely has already been infected with the nano-toxin, Michael heads to deliver the antidote to Alex and find a way to administer it, while Nikita goes after Amanda and tries to stop her from using the satellite to trigger the virus.

Although Michael and Alex are able to save the Nobel Prize winner, Amanda gleeful tells Nikita that Michael has been infected by the same virus. Amanda offers to save Michael's life on one condition: Nikita must publically murder the President of the United States in the next 24 hours. Unable to tell Michael why, and understanding no matter what she chooses she will loose the man she loves, Nikita finally knows what it feels to have Amanda win. Rather than winding down the season continues to amp up as Alex seriously considers her job offer and Nikita agrees to kill the President for her greatest enemy. With only two episodes left in the season, odds are things are going to get worse for the assassin turned hero before they get better.
