A fight between Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Sheldon (Jim Parsons) forces Leonard to leave the apartment and move in across the hall with Penny (Kaley Cuoco) who doesn't have the heart, or words, to tell her boyfriend she's not ready for such a big step. On hearing the news Amy (Mayim Bialik) proposes to a stunned Sheldon that she take Leonard's spot as his new roommate.
In the episode's B-story Raj (Kunal Nayyar) agrees to take care of Mrs. Wolowitz while Howard (Simon Helberg) is away on a trip to Las Vegas with Bernadette (Melissa Rauch). The scientist soon finds himself trapped, living in Howard's old room.
The episode works well by placing Penny and Sheldon in the same boat of being at a loss for words to tell their significant others that they don't want them to move in together. Although the idea of the proposed new living arrangements is dashed by the end of the episode, both pairings would have made for some intriguing changes to help shake up the show a little. I was a little sad, but in no way surprised, to see the status quo reinstated by the end of the episode.
