Aya (Grey DeLisle) and the army of Manhunters arrive on Zamaron fueled by Aya's hate and blaming the Star Sapphires for the pain she feels from the heartbreak of knowing Razer (Jason Spisak) can never truly love her. In need of a champion the Zamarons call on the help of Carol Ferris (Jennifer Hale) to stand-in as their champion in a battle against Atrocitus (Jonathan Adams).
Unwilling to convince Aya that love is stronger than hate leads the android to free Atrocitus from his prison on Oa using the Zamaron teleporter technology Aya used to kidnap Carol from Earth. With limited resources due to Aya's control of the Interceptor's higher functions, Hal Jordan (Josh Keaton), Kilowog (Kevin Michael Richardson), and Razer continue their search for their missing friend.
Unable to defeat Atrocitus on her own, Carol uses the power of the ring to summon her one true love and teleport Hal to Zamaron. Together the Green Lantern and Star Sapphire battle the former leader of the Red Lanterns, but it's the sacrifice of Ghia'ta that turns the tide of the battle. Although the battle is lost, Aya returns Atrocitus back to where she found him but refuses to admit love isn't a destructive force and pledges to destroy all life in the universe and purge emotion, recreating the universe in her own image.
It's good to see Carol brought back into the show, and her choice to keep her power ring (which allows her to call on Hal whenever needed) opens up several new options to the show. Aya's destructive behavior is only amplified by her battle against love on Zamaron and her cryptic farewell foreshadows big trouble for the crew of the Interceptor and all of the universe in weeks to come.
