While taking elaborate steps to hide the current state of his relationship with Britta (Gillian Jacobs) from Abed (Danny Pudi), and failing, Troy (Donald Glover), Abed, Jeff (Joel McHale), Britta, and Annie (Alison Brie) head out to the InspecTiCon to celebrate the pair's favorite show: Inspector Spacetime. Troy becomes jealous and suspicious of Abed's new pen-pal Toby Davies (Chris Tallman), a rabid Inspector Spacetime fan whom he's never mentioned before, with an unbelievable backstory. Britta counsels Troy to keep the crazy inside and "go all psycho-girlfriend" with Toby, but that's far easier said than done.
Jeff, who bears a striking resemblance to the show's super-villain Thoraxis, begins impersonating the actor to hit on an attractive fan (Tricia Helfer) of the show. Despite not being invited, Pierce (Chevy Chase) and Shirley (Yvette Nicole Brown) show up at the convention only to find themselves pulled into a focus group for the new American version of the show. Annie, who has never been on an adult vacation before, enjoys the hotel room and playing out the fantasy of being Mrs. Jeff Winger with the hotel staff.
Crazy runs rampant on the floors of the InspecTiCon as Troy makes a scene at one of the panels, Abed is kidnapped by his new best friend, Annie gets completely lost in her fantasy, Jeff gets two drinks thrown in his face for cheating with a wife he doesn't have, Pierce offers enough bad advice to completely destroy and chance of the American version of the show becoming a success, and Britta comes off as the sanest member of the group.
