Person of Interest - 2 Pi R

With Reese (Jim Caviezel) in FBI custody for the next 72 hours Carter (Taraji P. Henson) has to go the extra mile to stop Special Agent Donnelly (Brennan Brown) from discovering the true identity of the man in the suit, and with his partner temporarily unavailable Finch (Michael Emerson) is forced to go undercover as a substitute teacher to protect the latest number - a gifted teen named Caleb Phipps (Luke Kleintank) who is going to great lengths to hide his genius.

As Fusco (Kevin Chapman) talks to the boy's alcoholic mother (Mary B. McCann) and does a little digging into the accidental death of his older brother, Finch spends some time looking for the real Caleb who only shows up in complex computer code and his secret get-rich scheme which just might get him killed. Sadly, that might be exactly what he has planned. As Fusco tries to keep safe from two drug dealers who want him dead, Finch tries to protect the young man's code who his computer teacher (Luke Kirby) attempts to sell as his own work.

Despite it's unfortunate title, "2 Pi R" has a couple of nice twists as the true motives of everyone involved, other than the drug dealers who want the young man dead, are anything but what they initially seem. There's a nice final scene between Finch and Caleb that suggests we may not have seen the last of the young computer programmer. Although the episode focuses primarily on Finch and Fusco, Reese and Carter's story has big implications not only for he lengths Carter takes to protect Reese's identity, including swapping out DNA evidence, but for Donnelly's refusal to give up and his request that Carter dust off her old interrogation skills in order to find the man in the suit from the four possible suspects whom he reclassifies as terrorists and refuses to release from prison.
