Nikita - Consequences

Anne (Sarah Allen) catches up with Owen (Devon Sawa) in a Russian prison hoping for intel about an operation called Skeleton Key. After escaping from his rescuer, Owen leaves Nikita (Maggie Q) a message but is unprepared for the shock that Nikita and Michael (Shane West) are now working for Division. Despite Ryan's (Noah Bean) concerns, Nikita believes Owen can be trusted and works with him to find the cryptograph that can hack any system including that of Division.

The team is able to retrieve the key but is ambushed by Amanda's (Melinda Clarke) own private army. Amanda not only gets what she came for but leaves Nikita a little present in the form of a Trojan Horse that kills several Division scientists before using the cryptograph to declare war on both the new Division and Nikita.

Tracing Amanda's signal back to Germany, a Division strike force hits their compound to retrieve the cryptograph and take down Amanda and Ari (Peter Outerbridge) once and for all, but an injured Alex (Lyndsy Fonseca) nearly compromises the mission. The key is recovered but Owen is seriously injured and Alex's screw-up leads her to pop a few more of those mysterious blue pills while no one is looking. As the episode ends Amanda comes up with a new plan to attack Nikita involving Michael, and  Birkhoff (Aaron Stanford) and Sonja (Lyndie Greenwood) begin a search for the mole they believe Amanda has inside Division.

The cryptograph and the mysterious past between Amanda and Owen are interesting ideas that the episode doesn't really spend enough time developing before the mastermind throws in the towel on both fronts. By the end Amanda abandons a valuable weapon she could have used against Nikita as well as her mysterious interest in Owen, both far too easily. Alex's subplot is an interesting one as the injured spy is trapped between trying to be the spy Nikita needs her to be, her recent failures, and the revelation that Sean (Dillon Casey) is in love with her and wants her to leave this life behind and be with him.
